Sometimes, when sharing a PDF or an Annotated PDF and opening the file in other PDF readers, you may see rendering issues such as black boxes, blank pages, or blank squares on the pages.
This is most likely because the file(s) you are exporting uses image encoding that Apple no longer supports. Apple makes adjustments to its supported encodes periodically, so older versions of the operating system may be able to view it correctly, or other PDF apps (Acrobat, Foxit, etc.) while the latest versions of iOS may not. Unfortunately we are not able to resolve these ourselves, as these are Apple-provided frameworks.
If you are using a third-party PDF reader, one way to check this is to open the exported PDF file in an Apple-provided PDF app or function, such as Preview on Mac, within the Files app on iOS/iPadOS (use the Quick Look option), in the Notes app when attaching a PDF, or in the Books app. If the PDF file displays the same in the Apple app as it does in forScore, then this is likely an encoding support issue.
